Artist's Description:  A leopard blends in with the habitat making her a lethal hunter on the plains of Africa. Leopards are difficult to see in the wild because they are very elusive and mostly nocturnal. They are known for living in the sub-Sahara region of Africa but occur in many habitats and throughout various countries including the Russian Far East where temperatures routinely dip below freezing during the winter months. Leopards are very opportunistic and will eat anything they can catch and will often carry their kill into a tree using their extraordinary climbing skills.
