Artist's Description:   The pintail duck is also commonly known among duck hunters as the sprig. These ducks are a prized species for their size, taste and beauty. During the later half of the past century, while other waterfowl numbers reached record highs, the pintail population declined due to habitat loss, drought and predation. With help, hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts can help bring the ducks numbers back to historical averages. Several conservation organizations consisting primarily of hunters generate funds to set aside and restore critical habitat. A conservation edition of this print has been donated to the California Waterfowl Association’s Pintail Program for this purpose.
