| Art for Conservation |
|
For the past 10 years, Peter has been donating work to various wildlife conservation groups and painting various wildlife stamps and prints to raise money for habitat conservation. To date, his work has raised more than $400,000 and this figure continues to grow weekly! Setting aside and maintaining critical habitat ensures a future for wildlife and our ability to enjoy the animals. According to Ducks Unlimited's website, in the United States alone, more than 80,000 acres of wetland habitat is being lost annually due to development, drought and other factors. That's more than seven football fields each day! Below is a list of conservation groups that Peter has worked with and will continue to work with:
Ducks Unlimited (local, state, and national levels)
Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
Safari Club International
California Waterfowl Association
Oregon Hunters Association
Michigan Duck Hunters Association
Oregon Duck Hunters Association
Mule Deer Foundation
Trout Unlimited
Pheasants Forever
North American Bluebird Society

New Original Painting - "Sunrise Ensemble" |
| Here is the newest painting from Peter featuring a group of Canada geese coming over a treeline with a dramatic backlit cloud bank behind them. This scene was seen locally in the Willamette Valley on an early-morning trip to Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge. "The sheer numbers of wintering geese - mostly the cackling and dusky subspecies - were as impressive as the sky that day." says the artist "...and I wanted to be able to capture a peaceful scene that showed the true magic of that morning." The painting is an original acrylic that measures 24"x36". |

| The painting on the right, which has been featured in this newsletter in the past, was recently selected by Peter's publisher, Wild Wings, to be released as a limited edition print in July. The painting is called "Lessons" and is about the special moments in life between a father and a son that can occur on a hunting trip. More information regarding the print will be featured on the blog and on the website. |
