A
new page
has been
specifically
added to
mathiosstudios.net
for
Peter's
landscape
paintings.
Through
the
years,
he has
occasionally
painted
landscapes
like the
one
pictured
to the
left
titled
Wetland
Reverie.
This
painting
was
inspired
by an
early
morning
trip to
Blackwater
National
Wildlife
Refuge
in
Maryland
before
the
Waterfowl
Festival last
November.

Sunrise
Reflections
(12" x
16") is
a new
original
painting
that was
inspired
by a
trip to
Minnesota
last
October.
Peter's
publisher
is
located
on
picturesque
Lake
Pepin
which is
the
widest
naturally
occurring
part of
the
Mississippi
River.
On this
trip the
river
was
running
very
high due
to
recent
heavy
rains
and it
flooded
the
shoreline.
One
morning,
while
out
photographing,
the fog
formed
various
layers
as the
sun
tried to
burn
through
and this
lone
tree
stood
majestically
above
it's
reflection.
There
are four
mallards
standing
on a
partially
submerged
log
which
appear
diminutive
next to
the
regal
tree. |

Freezer
Raises
Money
for
Conservation |
|
Peter's
painting
The
Next
Five
was
transfered
onto an
upright
freezer
that was
auctioned
off this
past
Saturday
at the
Albany,
OR Ducks
Unlimited
Banquet.
The
upright
freezer
was
perfect
for a
hunter
to store
wild
game,
beef or
anything
else.
100% of
the
proceeds
went to
Ducks
Unlimited
for
wetland
and
waterfowl
conservation. Also
included
in the
auction
was an
original
painting
that Peter
created
on the
spot as
well
as his
national
package
art
print -
Teal
Reflections.
All
told, it
was a
great
night
for the
ducks! |
