2010 Ducks Unlimited National Stamp
"Bluebird Morning-Pintail" 7x10 acrylic on board
The title of this painting is a reference to the clear cool morning that is depicted as a pair of pintail depart the safety of this marsh to feed in a nearby flooded field. Wetland habitats like this are essential to maintain healthy populations of pintail (as well as many other species). They provide places for waterfowl to rest and feed so as to build up fat stores, which in turn, will enable spring migration and summer nesting.

This painting will be made into the 2010 Ducks Unlimited stamp and print. Proceeds from the sale of the stamps and prints will be used to acquire and enhance wetland habitats throughout North America. The original painting for this prestigious program is available at the link below.

"Courtship - Northern Pintail" 7x10 acrylic on board
A group of drake pintails court a single female by flying alongside her, displaying their handsome plumage and their deft flying skills. "Courtship - Northern Pintails" was painted using a sepia pallette to create the look of an old-fashioned photograph and stir nostalgiac feelings of days gone by.

This original painting will be available through Gallery One's annual Masterworks in Miniature show. Now in it's 18th year, Masterworks features small paintings by reknowned artists from around the globe. The show runs from March 6th thru March 21st when 'Intent to Purchase' slips will be drawn. More information about this unique show and purchase method can be found at the link below.

Miniature Paintings
"Broad-Billed Hummingbird" 5x5 acrylic on board
Peter is completing several miniature paintings each week that can be seen on his 'daily paintings blog'. Each painting is a unique piece of art and each has all of the characteristics of a large studio painting. If you are looking to collect original art, these small paintings are a fantastic way because they are very affordable. These one-of-a-kind jewels can be dispayed in groupings on a wall, on small table easels underneath a lamp, or framed alone and placed in that perfect spot.

If you visit the 'Daily Paintings Blog', you have the ability to sign up for email updates so you can enjoy each painting in your inbox as they are completed and posted. This gives you the opportunity to see several new pieces of Peter's work each week.

"Monsoon Shadows" 9x12 acrylic on board
Southwest summers are famous for monsoon thunderstorms which begin in late June or early July and last into September. This painting is of the Catalina Mountains just before an episode of these thunderstorms. The storm itself cannot be seen in the painting, but the dramatic light and shadowed mountains are indicative of the approaching storm.
