Birds in Art
The painting "Reflections" has been selected to this year's Birds in Art exhibition at the Leigh Yawkee Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin. Considered one of the top wildlife art shows in the world, paintings were selected from over a thousand submissions. There will be a little over 100 artists from 13 different countries represented who travel to this one-of-a-kind exhibition from as far away as South Africa, Australia, and China. The exhibition runs from September 6 - November 11 and catalogues are available through the museums website.

Pacific Flyway Decoy Association
The Pacific Flyway Decoy Association (PFDA) was established in 1971 by a handful of carvers who sought to promote and preserve the North American tradition of hand-carved, wood decoys. They created the Wildfowl Art Festival to serve this purpose and it will take place this July 14th-15th at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento, CA. This show will mark Peter's 9th year of participation. Spectacular wood carvings, decoy competitions, carving demonstrations and wildlife paintings highlight this incredible show.

Alaska Ducks Unlimited
For the first time, Peter has had artwork selected for the Alaska Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print. The painting 'Rainy Day Respite-Pintail' will grace the 2008/2009 print and will be released in March of 2008. The painting of a drake pintail taking a break in rainy conditions will be used to raise money for critical wetland habitat. Pintails are common migrants and nesters in and along Alaskan marshes.

Oregon Ducks Unlimited
For an unprecedented 4th year in a row and 7th time overall, Peter has been selected as the Oregon Ducks Unlimited "Artist of the Year". The competition was held in Newport, OR on June 23 and he had two paintings place in the top 3 including "Winter Hideaway" which was the winning entry. The painting features a pair of mallard and a wigeon drake and will grace the 2008 Oregon DU Sponsor Print.

Peppertree Art Show a Success
This past May, Peter (pictured with show host Bob Eubanks) participated in his third Peppertree Art Show and sold most of his paintings! The show was a success as sales neared a record for their May shows. Peter's work sold well and he has been invited to and is looking forward to participating again in the upcoming November show. There will be more details to follow in in the November/December newsletter. This is a spectacular event with an incredible array of artists from around the country.
