| Peter Accepts DU International Artist Award |
|
| This past May, Peter and his wife Rachelle traveled to Baltimore to accept the award for being selected as the 2009 Ducks Unlimited International Artist of the Year. While accepting the award, images of the winning painting, 'Evening Sprig' flanked each side of the stage on big screen as a moderator described the inspiration behind the painting. He is pictured here shaking hands with DU Executive Vice President Don Young at the ceremony. |

|
Two new prints are now available - 'First Flight' (pictured) and 'Rainy Day Respite'. Both are Artist Proof editions. The image size is 17" x 23" and the Artist Proof edition is limited to 250 prints.
'Rainy Day Respite' depicts a bull sprig relaxing despite a rain shower and will be used as the 2008/2009 Alaska Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print. This is a limited edition of 50 prints that are approximately 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" in size. |

A Common Theme |
A common theme threaded throughout this newsletter and Peter's art is the fact that he uses his work to benefit wetlands and the wildlife that use them. The United States is losing more than 80,000 acres of wetland habitat annually. That's more than seven football fields every hour! Wetlands are a crucial natural resource for both humans and wildlife for the following reasons:
Waterfowl Habitat
Recreation
Flood Storage
Groundwater Recharge
Improved Water Quality
Fish Habitat
Biodiversity
In short, we could not survive without them and Peter is passionate about their conservation. By raising several million dollars to date, his work has become a powerful tool in the struggle to set aside and enhance wetlands. |

The painting 'Redhead' (pictured) has been selected as the 2009 Oregon Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Print. The print will measure approximately 10"x14" and be released in January of next year. As with most of Peter's prints, proceeds will directly benefit wetland habitat throughout North America.
