Peter is one of nine finalists nominated for the 2009 Ducks Unlimited International Artist of the Year for his painting Evening Sprig (pictured). Voting for this prestigious award takes place online between January 1 - February 15 at the link below. Your vote will help select the winner. American Miniatures at Settler's West
Peter will have two paintings in the upcoming American Miniatures exhibition at Settler's West Gallery in Tucson, AZ. The opening reception takes place the evening of February 9th. American Miniatures was the first and is still the best exhibition of small original paintings and sculpture. More than 200 artists will participate in this stellar event, including Howard Terpning, William Acheff, Morgan Weistling, Scott Christensen and Robert Griffing.
Settler's West

Cabela's
Peter will be making a guest appearance at the grand opening of the new Cabela's in Lacey, WA during the weekend of January 26th & 27th. He will be there on Saturday from 9-12 and 1-4, then again on Sunday from 10-12 and 1-4. The Lacey, Washington store is located near the junction of I-5 and Marvin Road at the Lacey Gateway Project in the Hawks Prairie business district. The 185,000-square-foot retail showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction, featuring a décor of museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats.

Pheasants Forever
For the first time in his career Peter has been selected by Pheasants Forever to be a part of their national art package. Limited edition prints from the painting "South Platte Sunrise" will be auctioned off at 500 banquets throughout the United States and Canada beginning this April and continuing into 2009. Monies raised from the sale of the prints will be used for the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education.

Oh... So Close!
The painting Pintail Pair placed second out of twenty five entries in the recent 2008 Nevada Waterfowl Stamp competition. James P. Edwards of Raleigh, North Carolina won the competition with his depiction of a single drake pintail. The contest was sponsored by the Nevada Waterfowl Association, who selected the pintail (Anas acuta) as the designated subject for this year’s competition. The winning entry and the eight runner-up paintings were put on display at the Nevada Waterfowl Association’s November fundraising banquet in Fallon.
