The Art of  Peter Mathios

Artist's Description:   This pair of hooded mergansers is riding the currents of a small tributary.  The undulating patterns of the water carry the viewers eye from the male in the upper right hand corner of the painting, through some dips and bumps, to the females in the lower left.  These ducks are always on the lookout for small fish.  The handsome colors of the male merganser is a nice compliment to it's cool surroundings.
