Artist's Description:   A pair of pintail are leaving the refuge of this marsh on a cool, fresh morning to feed in a nearby flooded field and will return later to rest. Wetland habitats like this are essential to the survival of this species (as well as many other species) as they provide places to rest and feed to build up fat stores which will enable Spring migration and Summer nesting.

This painting will be made into the 2010 Ducks Unlimited stamp and print. Proceeds from the sale of the stamp will be used to benefit the type of habitat pictured as well as many other types of wetland habitat. The original painting is available at the link below.
